It is possible your device is broken, but it may be a driver problem or a Windows registry problem. There is an official forum for the EzCap 116 maintained by ezcap.tv: Unfortunately only registered members can read posts there.
Since you have the genuine device from ezcap.tv, it might be worth your time to join their forum and look at the threads reporting audio problems and fixes for audio problems. If you find a solution, please consider posting it here to help others who may find your thread at VideoHelp while looking for information. It broken or something? If you remember post #4 from Bjs, he said this about the audio drivers: 'you have to install them the long way round. Not via the installer or windows hardware driver update.' Bjs is saying the installer (Setup.exe or the MSI) may not have managed to install the audio driver, so you need to try manual installation. Have you tried that? If not, here is a tutorial. Although the tutorial uses a different device you should be able to get the gist of it.
There are two ways to install manually. Installing from a location, like a folder on a CD or hard drive, or picking the driver for your device from the list of drivers already on your computer. If one doesn't work or isn't available, you may need to try the other. ^I tried that too, but i know for sure that its not recording the sound. I hear nothing when i try to capture it. As I've stated before, I DO NOT think this is the fault of the computer, peripheral, &/or related software AS MUCH as I tend to believe that it is the fault of the user I did not ask for your opinion of the situation, I requested you to action and reasonably expected you to perform it and then report your findings NOT for you to repeat the opinion that was made in your original post!

Dude, chill, please. My capture card isn't recording sound and i only want to fix it.
And im looking for help. Thats all im asking for. And i DID do exactly what you told me. I went in and recorded a video with my capture card, then I played it with and i still didnt hear anything.
If you want me to do something differently then let me know and @usuallyquiet I'll try installing the drivers both ways then. @Atticus Draco: just because i didnt understand your directions dosen't mean you have to be so rude. And just for the record, im not a stoner i just have a mild forum of aspergers, but that's a completely different story im not going to get into. I just need help fixing my capture card because its not recording sound and it's been working fine for the past year and a half before this happened (not sure if they actually do wear out last this) but worst case scenario if i can't get it fixed i'll get a different one instead. @UsuallyQuiet: i'll try following the tutorial link you posted. I havent had time to recently because i was out of town. It seems very complicated but i might be able to figure it out, i'll let you know what happens.

About Video Capture Adapter Driver: TV Tuner drivers act as a communication bridge between your TV tuner and your personal computer. Whether you are using an external or an internal TV Tuner, it is very important that you update your drivers as often as possible in order to use your device at its maximum potential. When bugs are found in the software, developers launch new drivers meant to solve these issues and improve compatibility with newer operating systems, as well as add new features to the device. Usually, TV tuner drivers come as part of a package that also contains the video playback software.
This way, users get to enjoy a more stable, bug-free experience, but also an improved user interface for the included playback software. Most of the times, TV Tuner drivers come in an easy to use installation software bundle which guides the user through all the steps, but that’s not always the case: there are situations in which, with older devices, the driver must be added manually. Before clicking the download button, please make sure that you have selected the appropriate driver for your unit and operating system. Don’t forget to check with our website for the latest drivers and software in order to keep your device up to date and running smoothly.

On an XP Platform am having the same problem using ArcSoft Showbiz DVD 2 with a Tevion High Speed DVD Maker USB attachment with SVHS and Composite Video Input and Left/Right RCA Phono Jack audio inputs. This all worked fine a couple weeks ago, and now can't get the audio to work.
Tried everything I can think of, hesitant to go to unknown sites and potentially download something that could come with things I don't want. Contact ARCSOFT, plan is within the next few days ArcSoft to remote connect to my XP platform and see if they can resolve.
HOWEVER, in the meantime. Have a reasonable workaround; which is to use a standard 1/8' plug and connect either from my camcorder output, or earphone output, to my microphone input on my PC. Then select using Microphone from the standard audio interface/driver. However, couple points: 1. Make Sure Mic Boost is OFF in the sounds control panel, otherwise the audio is awful. If using earplug as source on the camcorder, test adjusting the output video with various levels so your camcorder is set at an optimal audio volume for the earplug. You may also want to experiment with Microphone Volume settings.
But be sure to evaluate based on the actual video recording, and NOT what you are hearing in 'Monitor' condition as you are recording. For whatever it's worth to anyone. Hi - I gave up with this software - I never did get the thing to work, but with other software I found that automatic updates my pc would stop the software from working, so I simply did a system restore back to a date before the item stopped working and lo and behold it worked, but of course if your pc is set to automatic updates each time the pc updates itself with new sound drivers or whatever a system restore is going to be needed to put the pc back to when the correct dowmloads allowed the software to work properly.
